I am a nerd. Big time. And I am darn proud of it! Here are some things that bring out the best of my nerdosity. What makes you nerd-out?

  • Arthurian Legend
A brave king, knights, wizards, fairies, the Round Table… Whether King Arthur is real or not, the stories of him and his companions will never fail to intrigue me. Not to mention, the Gwinyvere-Lancelot-Arthur situation has always provided a good story, especially for a die-hard romantic like myself. I have always had a fascination with the fantasy world of kings and queens. So it is only natural for me to be drawn into the world of one of the most famous legends of all time! But I wish I knew more of King Arthur, as I have yet to fully know about his story. On that note, I rate King Arthur: 8 out of 10 Excaliburs on the Nerd-O-Meter.
  • Doctor Who
Oh my. This is where it starts getting intense, my friends. For us Whovians, Doctor Who is an addiction. No, not even that. Doctor Who is the way we live. Running for more than 40 years, Doctor Who has built up nothing short of a legacy. Though a regenerating alien who travels through time and space in a blue police box may sound a tad strange to those unfamiliar to the show, it is that seemingly ridiculous concept that keeps me coming back for more. The show is ingeniously written. I might even go as far to say that it is one of the best written shows on television EVER. I feel like I know these characters; I feel their victories, their sorrows. It is for that reason that I give Doctor Who 12 out of 10 Sonic Screwdrivers on the Nerd-O-Meter. Yes, 12. It deserves that many!

  • Harry Potter
Most kids in my generation hold Harry and all his buddies close to their hearts. I am no exception. We’ve grown with them, we’ve cried with them, we’ve watched them flourish into amazing people. We laughed with Fred and George and we wondered what Tonks’s next hair color would be. I bet I would’ve been a totally different kid without Harry Potter. For being my childhood, Harry I give you 10 out of 10 Floo Powder pinches.
  • Synthetic Division
Okay. I’m gonna admit, math isn’t my favorite subject. But there are some aspects of it that really fascinate me. One of those is synthetic division! I swear, this is a gift sent down from the gods of algebra!! Remember long division? Yeah, I hate it too. I’ve always wished for a shortcut to those painstaking, tedious steps. Synthetic division is an answer to prayer. It’s short, sweet, and most importantly, it doesn’t make my paper look messy. As much as i love you synthetic division, you have your limits and don’t work on anything. Moop. But I’ll give you credit :). I rate synthetic division: 6.5 out of 10 Quadratic Equations.
  • Assassin’s Creed
Oh man. Oh man oh man oh man oh man. Anyone who knows me knows that Assassin’s Creed is my all-time favorite video game series. EVER. I am such a dude when it comes to this game. Also ingeniously written, not only do these games have amazing graphics and action sequences, the story line is so captivating. A tad violent, yes, but mysterious and utterly captivating. I read almost every article, guide book, magazine, etc. I could get my hands just so I could be more deeply immersed into the AC universe and all of the characters within. The only drawback? The games need to be longer! And with that, Assassin’s Creed receives 11 out of 10 Hidden Blades. Just one point down from Doctor Who, but high nonetheless. Good job Ubisoft. You’ve created a great game.
